Why Prepare?
Do I think the world will end tomorrow? Probably not. But there are realities that responsible adults should be prepared for. We have only to look at Hurricane Katrina to see what happens in a fairly localized natural disaster. There was no food, no access to medical services or banking or supplies, and no way to contact the outside world for several days. Those who did not have a surplus of food and supplies had to rely on the government handouts- which were several days late and hundreds of dollars short.
The bottom line is that taking time to prepare at least for the most likely emergencies in your area (short of a zombie invasion) will allow you and your family more normalcy in the event of a hurricane, tornado, flood or even a terrorist attack. The particular stop that you get off the preparedness bus is up to you.
